Privacy Policy

This notice explains, under Articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), the Italian Privacy Code (Legislative Decree 196/2003) and Slovak Act No. 18/2018, how your personal data is processed.

1. Data controller

2. What data we process

a) Data you choose to send us through the quote form, by email or by phone: your name, email address, phone number, the texts and documents to translate and your comments. Documents may contain data about other people or special categories of data (for example health data in a medical certificate): we process them only to carry out the translation you request, in strict confidence. b) Technical data: like any website, the hosting provider's server automatically records some technical data in its logs (IP address, date and time, requested page, browser type).

3. Purposes and legal bases

Answering requests, preparing quotes and carrying out translations: pre-contractual steps and performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Tax and accounting obligations: legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)). Website security and protection of our rights: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)). Special categories of data contained in documents to translate: your explicit consent, given by sending the document for translation (Art. 9(2)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time.

4. Providing your data

Providing data is voluntary, but without your name, email address and the text to translate we cannot prepare a quote.

5. How the form works

The form does not send data to a server or store it on the website: it opens your email app with the message filled in, and you decide whether to send it. Your data therefore reaches us as an ordinary email.

6. Recipients

We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing. It may be received only by: our email provider (Google Ireland Ltd, Gmail) and the website's hosting provider, acting as processors; our tax adviser, for accounting; public authorities, where the law requires it.

7. Transfers outside the EU

Google may also process data in the United States. These transfers rely on the European Commission's adequacy decision (EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework) and on the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the Commission.

8. How long we keep data

Quote requests that don't lead to an order: up to 12 months. Texts and translated documents: up to 12 months after delivery, unless agreed otherwise with the client. Invoices and accounting records: 10 years, as required by law. Server logs: for the period set by the hosting provider.

This website uses no cookies of any kind (neither technical nor analytics or advertising), no other browser storage, no analytics or tracking tools, and loads nothing from external services (fonts, maps, videos or social networks). For this reason no cookie banner is needed.

10. Security

The website is served only over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), uses no database and no forms that store data on the server, and applies strict browser security policies.

11. Your rights

At any time you can ask for access to your data, its correction, deletion, restriction or portability, object to processing based on legitimate interest, and withdraw consent without affecting earlier processing (Arts. 15–22 GDPR). Write to sona.steklac@gmail.com: we reply within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority (www.garanteprivacy.it), the Slovak Office for Personal Data Protection (dataprotection.gov.sk) or the supervisory authority where you live or work.

12. Automated decisions

No decisions are made solely by automated means, including profiling.
